n. comb. from the Early Eocene <strong>of</strong> Urkut, Hungary, but differs in its smaller size<br />

and intrabaculate exine.<br />

Botanical affinity: Unknown (Dicotyledonopsida).<br />

Description: Tricolporate pollen grain. Figura ellipsoidal or prolate with hemispherical<br />

pole cap in equatorial view. The three distinct colpi are symmetrically arranged and<br />

furnished with large, rounded pores. Exine finely reticulate; lumina 0.5- I pm in<br />

diameter; structure intrabaculate, I pm thick.<br />

Measurements: 37 X 27 pm in size.<br />

Width / length ratio: 0.73.<br />

Remarks: Rhoipites sp. b (pI. 31, fig. 1) from Jos, Nigeria, is somewhat alike the<br />

difference in shape <strong>of</strong> both in pollen grain and pores.<br />

Botanical affinity: Unknown (Dicotyledonopsida).<br />

Description: Tricolporate pollen grain. Figura broad-ellipsoidal or subprolate In<br />

equatorial view. Three conspicuous colpi with lalongate pores are symmetrically<br />

placed. Exine 1. 7 pm thick, reticulate; endexine smooth.<br />

Measurements: 27 X 23 pm in size.<br />

Width /length ratio: 0.85.<br />

Remarks: A single specimen was encountered, which could not be identified<br />

specifically.<br />

Botanical affinity: Unknown (Dicotyledonopsida).<br />

Description: Tricolporate pollen <strong>of</strong> spheroidal shape in equatorial view. The three feeble<br />

colpi are orderly placed and furnished with somewhat elongated pores meridionally.<br />

Sculpture finely reticulate; lumina ca. 2 pm in diameter; tectate, 1. 2 pm high.<br />

Measurements: 18 X 17 pm in size.<br />

Width /length ratio: 0.94.
