WAGE SCALE SIGNED.<br />

Operators and miners of the Central<br />

Pennsylvania bituminous district reached an<br />

agreement as to the scale for next year on<br />

April 4th, at Altoona, Pa. The scale, which<br />

is the same as that adopted for 1903 and<br />

1904, will run until March 31, 1906. The<br />

names of those who signed this important<br />

agreement follow:<br />

Operators' committee: James Kerr, chairman,<br />

James Coryell, Lucius W. Robinson,<br />

R. A. Shillingford, J. R. Irish, W. A. Lathrop,<br />

Robert H. Kay, Fred. G. Betts, C. B.<br />

Maxwell, and Ge<strong>org</strong>e E. Scott, secretary.<br />

Miners' committee: William Currie, secretary,<br />

John Sullivan, Ge<strong>org</strong>e Bassett, W. S.<br />

Davidson, Ge<strong>org</strong>e Sinclair, Ge<strong>org</strong>e McMillin,<br />

W. E. Patterson, William Slee, Patrick<br />

Gilday, president Dist. No. 2, Edward Mc­<br />

Kay, national <strong>org</strong>anizer, Charles Keenan,<br />

and J. D. Bateman.<br />

The terms of the scale, the same as<br />

•that of 1903 and 1904, follow:<br />

That the pick mining price shall be sixty<br />

(60) cents per gross ton. That machine<br />

loading shall be five-ninths (5-9) of the<br />

pick mining rate, plus one-half (',
