Management<br />

- Is usually hysterectomy<br />

- Some times doctors can remove it as a piecemeal under<br />

general anesthesia or leave it to be absorbed.<br />

7.9 Rupture of the Uterus<br />

Definition: When there is a tear or cut in the uterus. It is one<br />

of the obstetric emergencies.<br />

Causes<br />

1 Weak caesarian section scar<br />

2 Trauma during operative manipulation per vagina<br />

3 <strong>The</strong> unwise use of oxytocic drug<br />

4 Obstructed labour.<br />

1. Weak Caesarian Section Scar<br />

Cause: -<br />

- Wound healed by secondary or more of stage<br />

- If another pregnancy occurs with in six months<br />

- Over distension as in subsequent twin or ployhydraminos<br />

Occurrence- During 1 st stage of labour or the last four weeks<br />

of pregnancy.<br />
