This Division deals with faculty recruitment and their<br />
professional development. As such, it deals with the<br />
administrative activities pertaining to:<br />
creation of teaching/academic posts;<br />

terminal benefits;<br />

This Division is the main coordinating wing of <strong>IGNOU</strong><br />
for providing non-academic administrative and secretarial<br />
support to all schools of studies, divisions, centres and<br />
units. It has the following sections/cells/units, each of<br />
which has been assigned specific functions and<br />
responsibilities.<br />
Governance Section<br />
This section is entrusted with responsibilities of<br />
conducting the meetings and related activities concerning<br />
the Board of Management (BOM), its Standing<br />
Committees, viz., Establishment Committee, Purchase<br />
Committee and Works Committee. It is responsible for<br />
responding to the Parliamentary questions and important<br />
communications from MHRD, UGC/AICTE etc. The<br />
section also deals with Statutes/Ordinances/Regulations<br />
and additions, deletions and amendments thereto.<br />

Establishment Section<br />
This section deals with the service matters of the nonacademic<br />
employees of the University.<br />
General Administration Section<br />
This section looks after activities related to administration,<br />
transport, travel, telephones, guest house facility,<br />
hospitality arrangements, liaison with Government bodies,<br />
sports and cultural activities, staff welfare matters and<br />
staff housing.<br />
Central Purchase Unit<br />
This unit is responsible for all the purchases of the<br />
University, except for those pertaining to library books,<br />
construction works and printing of course material. It<br />
also looks after the insurance of the property of the<br />
University and the maintenance of all equipments<br />
procured by it.<br />
Security Unit<br />
This unit is responsible for the safety and security of the<br />
University staff and property at its Campus and other<br />
locations in Delhi. This includes supervision of security<br />
operations, maintenance and installation of fire safety<br />
equipment. At present it is also looking after the<br />
housekeeping operations of the campus.<br />
SC/ST Cell<br />
This cell monitors the implementation of the reservation<br />
policy of the Government of India in the University.<br />
