recognized for its achievements with two <strong>Saskatchewan</strong><br />
<strong>Tourism</strong> Awards of Excellence, as well as being named<br />
as a finalist in the Canadian <strong>Tourism</strong> Awards.<br />
The Quality Assurance Program continued to move<br />
forward in the second year of its implementation. A<br />
Program Director was appointed, which allowed for<br />
progress to be made on the development of quality<br />
assurance criteria. The <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> <strong>Tourism</strong> Education<br />
Council (STEC) delivered a wide range of services and<br />
programs, including industry training, the Ready To Work<br />
- <strong>Tourism</strong> Careers (RTW) Program, emerit Certification,<br />
Employer of Choice program (<strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> has<br />
achieved an Employer of Choice designation),<br />
professional recognition dinners, and more. In addition to<br />
existing programs, STEC began work on a marketing<br />
strategy and introduced the innovative UPSKILL<br />
Essentials to Excel program.<br />
The first <strong>Tourism</strong> Advocacy Day at the provincial<br />
legislature was held on November 2. Represented by<br />
members of the Board of Directors, Senior Management,<br />
and President’s Task Teams, <strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong><br />
addressed Government and Opposition caucuses,<br />
bringing key concerns and tourism success stories to<br />
elected officials.<br />
