<strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> has introduced new and<br />

innovative marketing techniques to ensure that its<br />

message is present on the expansive social media and<br />

mobile platforms. By integrating its <strong>Tourism</strong> Industry<br />

Database within its Customer Relationship Management<br />

system, all <strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> staff have ready<br />

access to the most relevant and accurate industry<br />

information. <strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> also implemented the<br />

first phase of a new Unified Communication Project that<br />

provides staff with a tool that unites voice<br />

<strong>com</strong>munications, instant messaging, and audio, video,<br />

and web conferencing. This technology can transform any<br />

conversation to include high-resolution video, application<br />

and desktop sharing, and allows staff to connect from<br />

virtually anywhere.<br />

One of several priority issues, membership has and will<br />

continue to be addressed with thoughtful consideration to<br />

ensure that <strong>com</strong>munication with members is clear,<br />

informative, and up-to-date and that benefits are fulfilled.<br />

Field staff will play key roles as liaisons with <strong>Tourism</strong><br />

<strong>Saskatchewan</strong> members.<br />

Technological Change<br />

<strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> recognizes that the pace of<br />

technological change has never been quicker and the<br />

rate of consumer adoption has never been higher. Major<br />

changes in social <strong>com</strong>puting, mobile <strong>com</strong>puting, data and<br />

analytics, video, and unified <strong>com</strong>munications are<br />

addressed by developing projects and capabilities that<br />

align these emerging technologies with the organization’s<br />

business goals.<br />

Employer of Choice<br />

<strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> strives to be a leader in human<br />

resource development. The Employer of Choice<br />

designation was earned by <strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>,<br />

recognizing excellence in human resource practices.<br />

Comprehensive employee benefit plans provide peace of<br />

mind and encourage work/life balance. An innovative<br />

retirement planning seminar was piloted with the Public<br />

Employees’ Pension Plan and <strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong><br />

that focused on younger employees.<br />

Community Outreach<br />

Community outreach was demonstrated through<br />

sponsorship activities and support of 155 events,<br />

workshops, fundraising activities, and initiatives<br />

undertaken by cultural, heritage, and sports<br />

organizations. <strong>Tourism</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> was a proud<br />

partner of the Year of India in Canada and was pleased to<br />

participate in and promote festivities. The annual United<br />

Way campaign was, once again, embraced by staff, who<br />

raised $6,800.<br />
