I’ve been a member of the ABS since 2009 with a long-term dream of
owning a Beechcraft and specifically a B55. After a three-year search for
the right Baron for us, my wife Kathryn and I became owners of N47TG, a 1980
B55 this past week. The flight from North Carolina to our home base [in] Central
Texas was fabulous, even considering the failure of the autopilot system
shortly after departure from the fuel stop in Mississippi. In fact, during hand
flying the Baron for over three hours to our home base, I became even
more enthusiastic about the airplane and how it handles. Most of the trip
was in severe-clear conditions, but the last 100 miles was less than optimal
with a low-pressure disturbance moving across Texas. Yet the descent
through IMC proved the airplane’s precise handling characterizes that I’ve
read so much about and now have experienced. Thank you for the Society
and for the excellent magazine, as well as the rigging and troubleshooting

Thank you for recommending Ron Timmermans to be my instructor
for my BPPP Online+Flight ride. I met him in Ft. Worth and thoroughly
enjoyed the day. We did everything imaginable in the Baron – approaches,
emergencies, engine shutdowns, you name it. Ron was very knowledgeable
about my airplane and I learned a great deal. We flew for most of the day
with a short break for lunch in Mineral Wells. I returned home to Wiley Post
shortly after sunset with my Flight Review and IPC signed off by Ron and
feeling like a more competent pilot in my airplane. I will recommend the
BPPP Online+Flight program to my friends as it is well worth the cost. I look
