Chief-conductor was the now worldrenowned<br />
Libor Pešek, under whose<br />
baton the orchestra soon reached<br />
a remarkable level of artistic attainment.<br />
Other Chief-conductors have also<br />
contributed to the artistic growth of the<br />
orchestra - Libor Hlaváček, Petr Altrichter,<br />
Bohumil Kulínský, Petr Škvor and<br />
Róbert Stankovský. In the years 1997-<br />
2009 Leoš Svárovský stood at the head<br />
of the orchestra. Since August 2009 the<br />
orchestra has the new Chief-conductor<br />
Marko Ivanović. Peter Feranec became<br />
the principal guest conductor from the<br />
2009-2010 concert season. The orchestra<br />
has collaborated and performed<br />
under world-renowned conductors<br />
such as Jiří Bělohlávek, Marco Armiliato, Marris Jansons; other Czech and international conductors have<br />
also taken their place at the conductor‘s podium: Josef Vlach, Vladimír Válek, František Vajnar, Jiří Stárek,<br />
Ondřej Kukal, Petr Vronský, Jaroslav Krček, Albert Rosen, István Dénes, Emin Chachaturian, Juozas<br />
Domarkas, Arnold Katz, Gérard Oskamp, Martin Lebel, Hilary Griffiths, Peter Feranec and many others.<br />
A plethora of leading soloists, for example Lazar Berman, Ivan Moravec, and Eugen Indjic, the violinists<br />
Vladimir Spivakov, Josef Suk, Václav Snítil, and Isabelle van Keulen, the guitarist Angel Romero, María Isabel<br />
Siewers, the trumpet player Ludwig Güttler, the horn players Peter Damm, Herrmann Baumann, and<br />
Zdeněk Tylšar, the vocalists Helen Donath and Dagmar Pecková have also performed with the orchestra.<br />
