Automotive Training Expo 2012 changes date from March to February

SeaTac, Wash.—Generally held in
March, the Automotive Training Expo
(ATE) will be on Feb. 24-26 next year at
the Doubletree Hotel near Sea-Tac Airport.
As of press time, the education
committee for ATE was finalizing the more
than 50 classes
that will be
featured at the
training event.

Instructors
for ATE will again include the top trainers
in North America to provide extensive
management and technical classes ranging
from financial issues to vehicle diagnostics,
and welding to hybrid powertrains.
I-CAR will once again provide training
for the collision repair trade in conjunction
with the Professional Development
Programs (PDPs). A number of courses
will be instructed by leading I-CAR
trainers under the role-based PDP.
ATE draws hundreds of service and
repair professionals from throughout the
western U.S. and western Canada.
The all-inclusive registration fee allows
participants to attend as many classes as
desired over the three days of training.
Registration includes class materials,
meals, and entrance to the Friday and
Saturday evening trade expo that features
food and beverages.
Registration also includes keynote
speakers at the Saturday breakfast and
luncheon. Noted coach and personal
development trainer Richard Flint will
present “The Power to Be” in the morning,
while Fred Schafer, considered one of the
nation’s most dynamic speakers, will offer
“The Underdog Method to Success” during
Saturday’s lunch. Both will also present
training classes.
Exhibitors at the trade expo include parts
and product suppliers, remanufacturers,
equipment and tool providers, training
firms, and other industry-support
companies. Thousands of dollars in give-aways
and prize drawings are provided for
those who attend the expo.
For industry professionals who want to
attend just the trade show, a $15 fee allows
entrance on Friday or Saturday nights.
The largest automotive service and repair
training event on the West Coast, ATE
provides the most dynamic class offerings
to meet the needs of today’s service and
repair facilities.
The education committee, consisting of
shop owners, technicians, and industry
professionals, strives to select the classes
and seminars that provide the most
comprehensive management and technical
training available in North America.
“ATE 2012 will add new classes never
before offered, as well as several new
trainers that are highly regarded in the
industry,” said Jeff Lovell, AAM, president
and executive director of ASA Washington,
the show producer.
“We work very hard to keep ATE fresh
and offer the classes that our industry
needs to be both professional and
profitable,” Lovell said.
