P. T. Sreekumar has been teaching political science for the last 17 years at an aided higher
secondary school in Palakkad district, Keralam. He has served as a State Level Trainer and
Resource person. The age of his students range from 15-17 years, and typically there are 60
students in his class. He obtained post graduate degrees in politics and education and received a
Ph.D. He has also completed a certificate course in counseling. He is married and has one
daughter. Traveling and meeting people are his two hobbies. Through TEA, Sreekumar would
like to interact with the young minds in the U.S. as well as enhance his expertise and skill in
teaching.
Devika Raman, Social Science Teacher

Devika Raman has been part of Padma Seshadri School teaching social science for the past 22
years. The age of her students range from 14-16 years old, and on average there are 35 students
in her class. Devika has been actively involving herself in counseling her students with
emotional support and thus building confidence in them. She has been part of the International
Youth Award accompanying children in their various activities. She has been an active member
of all the cultural programs held in the school. Devika has done her Masters in history,
Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, and completed a certificate course in human resources
development. She is passionate about music and theater arts and she takes keen interest in
developing her culinary skills. Devika is married, with one son and a daughter. Her primary
objective of participating in TEA is to achieve excellence in her teaching by adopting various
methodologies shared with teachers of various schools from different countries.

In a teaching career spanning over a decade, Mahalakshmi Ramjee has been teaching a variety of
subjects with postgraduate degrees in geography, English, education, and economics to her
credit. She conducts workshops for teachers on teaching methodologies, evaluation techniques,
map skills and value education apart from training pupils for national and international
competitions. She has played an active role in our Global School Partnership Program, funded by
the British Council, in the capacity of assistant coordinator. She has a highly supportive husband
