certificate for a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s of Education from the teacher’s training<br />

college in Chittagong. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in English. Fatema is married with<br />

one daughter and one son. Her hobby is watching T.V. She aims to use her experience in the<br />

TEA program to develop her teaching life and acquire new methodologies.<br />

Md. Badrul Alam has been teaching English literature and language at the secondary level for the<br />

last 7 years. His students range in age from 11 to 16 years old, and ordinarily there are 50<br />

students in his class. He is a Master Trainer of the BRAC, PACE program, in which he plays a<br />

role to improve teachers’ skills so that they can perform their best in the classroom. He received<br />

his Bachelor degree in English from the National University. He is married with one daughter.<br />

His hobbies are reading books, watching movies, etc. His primary objective for participating in<br />

TEA is to explore new methodologies in teaching.<br />

Md. Bablu Hossain, English Teacher<br />

Md. Bablu Hossain has been teaching English literature and language at a secondary school for<br />

the last 15 years. His students are between 11 and 16 years old and, on average, there are 60<br />

students in his class. He is one of the members (TR) of the School Management Committee<br />

(SMC) where he plays an effective role to promote students’ education. He received a Bachelor’s<br />

degree in English from Rajshahi University in 1986 and a Master’s degree in English from<br />

Shanto-Marium University of Creative Technology in Uttara, Dhaka in 2008. Hossain is married<br />

with two young sons and his hobbies are talking, photography and theater. He hopes that by<br />

participating in TEA he will be able to explore new methodologies for engaging students in a<br />

more participatory and active class setting.<br />

Kalkini Syed Abul Hossain Academy<br />

Md. Hemayet Hossain has been teaching English literature and language at a non-government<br />

secondary school for the last 10 years. The age of his students range from 11-16 years old, and<br />

on average there are 60 students in his class. He is an active member of English Language Club<br />

and Bangladesh English Language Teachers Association (BELTA). He also provides training to<br />

the secondary schools’ English teachers as a master trainer of the PACE program under BRAC.<br />

He received a Bachelor’s degree from Kalkini Syed Abul Hossain University College in 1997.
