Natalia Kanarska has been teaching history and civic education at a public secondary school for<br />

the last 15 years. Her students range from 12-16 years old, and, on average, there are 30 students<br />

in my class. She is an organizer of teen groups to volunteer at the Regional Boarding House for<br />

Disabled children. She is a leader of a youth club in her school as well. Natalia is married and<br />

has a twelve year old daughter. Theater and music are her hobbies. Her main aim for taking part<br />

in TEA is to explore new methodologies.<br />

Oleksandr Korotkov, English Teacher<br />

Oleksandr Korotkov has been teaching English at a public secondary school for the past 10<br />

years. His students range in age from 11-15 years old and there are generally 12 students in his<br />

class. Oleksandr is the Head of the Foreign Languages Teacher Association in Kyero-<br />

Sviatoshynskyi rayon and has a lot of responsibilities. He helps teachers to improve their<br />

personal and professional skills through organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.<br />

Oleksandr received a specialist degree in English from Mykolaiv State Pedagogical University in<br />

2002 and a certificate in teaching methods from the same university. He is married with a young<br />

son and his hobbies are skiing and publishing. Through taking part in TEA, he seeks to explore<br />

new methodologies and teaching strategies for motivating students to gain new knowledge and<br />

improve their personal skills.<br />

Ievgeniia Romaniuk, English Teacher<br />

Ievgeniia Romaniuk has been teaching English language at Lutsk Gymnasium 18 for the past<br />

five and half years. Her students are between the ages of 12 and 14 years old. Ievgeniia is an<br />

active member of the school scientific group, in which she guides and helps students to write<br />

their scientific research. She is also a trainer at the In-Service Teacher Training Institute.<br />

Ievgeniia received a specialist’s degree in Russian language and literature and English language<br />

from Volyn State University in 2003. Her hobbies include dancing and reading. Her primary<br />

objective for participating in TEA is to explore the new teaching methods for effectively<br />

involving students into the learning process.<br />

Olga Shevchenka, English Teacher<br />

Olga Shevchenka has been teaching English language and country studies at a public secondary<br />

school for the past seven years. Her students range from 7-16 years old and her classes typically<br />

have about 20 students. Olga is an active member of the school life. She is the head of the<br />

Methodical Commission and the secretary of the Pedagogical Council. Olga received a diploma
