Come January 2013, Normal (Technical) students will be able to pursue their secondary education in
a specialised school designed to keep pace with their learning abilities. Located in Jurong East, Crest
Secondary School, and another to be opened in the North in January 2014, will see its students move
on to ITE for post-secondary technical education.
While students go through the same four-year Normal (Technical) curriculum offered in mainstream
schools, they will also enjoy lessons which place an emphasis on skill-based activities and practical
learning in a real-world context. Students will also be allowed to take up ‘taster modules’ at lower
secondary levels, before moving on to specialising in ITE Skills Certificate courses in Facility Services,
Mechanical Servicing, Retail Services or Hospitality Services at upper secondary levels.
