Sikanjbeen<br />

Sikanjbeen is Persian word, Which is composed of Sirka (Acetic acid)<br />

and Angbeen (Honey). So it is called Sikanjbeen. It is a type of syrup<br />

in which Sirka (Acetic acid) is an essential part of this formulation. In<br />

ancient time it was prepared from Sirka (Acetic acid) and Angbeen<br />

(Honey) but now days it is prepared from sugar also, which is called<br />

Sikanjbeen Sada. If other ingredients are included then its name may<br />

become on that particular drug as Sikanjbeen Unsuli due to adding<br />

Unsul (Urginea indica bulb).<br />

Sikanjbeen Bazoori<br />

Its name is due to its ingredient Bazer (Seed)<br />

Action and Uses: Mudir Bol (Diuretic), Mudir Hez (Emmenagogue),<br />

Munaqqi Fuzlat Jiger (Eliminate liver waste matters) Munaqqi Fuzlat<br />

Tihal (Eliminate Spleen waste matters).<br />

Chief Ingredient: Tukhme Kasni (Cichorium intybus seed)<br />

Ingredients:<br />

Tukhme Kasni (Cichorium intybus seed) 25gm<br />

Tukhme Karafs (Apium graveolence seed) 25gm<br />

Badiyan (Foeniculum vulgare Mill seed) 25gm<br />

Sirka (Acetic acid) 60 ml<br />

Water 1 ½ litre<br />

Sugar 1 ½ kg<br />

Preparation: Crush all seed and soak in water and Sirka (Acetic acid)<br />

at night. Mesh well in morning and filter it. Add sugar in filtrate and<br />

make Qiwam (Basic Solution of Particular consistency).<br />

Dose: 25 ml with Arq Gaozaban and Arq Badiyan 30ml each.<br />

Sikanjbeen Nanayee<br />

Its name is due to its ingredient Nana (Mentha arvensis herb).<br />

Action and Uses: It reduces Safra (Bile). It helps in digestion.<br />

Chief Ingredient: Podina Khushk (Mentha arvensis dry herb)<br />

Ingredients:<br />

Podina Khushk (Mentha arvensis dry herb) 25gm<br />

Aab Leemun (Citrus lemonum fruit juice) 100 ml<br />

Sugar ½ kg<br />

Boil the Podina (Mentha arvensis herb) in Water, rub well then filter<br />

it. in filtrate add sugar and make Qiwam (Basic Solution of<br />

Particular consistency) of Sherbat.<br />

Dose: 10-25 ml<br />

Sikanjbeen Unsuli<br />

Its name is due to its ingredient Unsul (Urginea indica bulb)<br />

Action and Uses: It is beneficial in hard swellings of Liver and<br />

Spleen.<br />

Chief Ingredient: Unsul (Urginea indica bulb)<br />

Ingredients:<br />

Unsul (Urginea indica bulb) 250gm<br />

Sirka (Vinegar) 2½ litre<br />

Sugar 2½ kg<br />

Preparation: Chop the Unsul (Urginea indica bulb) in small pieces.<br />

Boil it in Sirka (Acetic acid) and rub well and filter. Add sugar in<br />

filtrate and prepare Qiwam (Basic Solution of Particular consistency)<br />

of Sherbat.<br />

Dose: 25 ml<br />
