The lowest of the group of watermills<br />
located along St Peter’s Valley, the<br />
mill has undergone important<br />
renovation work by the National<br />
Trust for <strong>Jersey</strong>. Whilst not open to<br />
the public as yet it is still possible to<br />
enjoy the site’s settings and discover<br />
the delightful walks in the<br />
surrounding woodlands.<br />

Built in the 1540’s, St Aubin’s Fort<br />
pre-dates Elizabeth Castle and<br />
together they provided protection to<br />
the bay and the harbour at St Aubin.<br />
Explore the fort by walking across<br />
the wet sand at low tide.<br />

Fisherman’s Chapel<br />

Overlooking St Brelade’s Bay, the<br />
nave and the chancel date from the<br />
Norman times. The adjacent<br />
Fisherman’s chapel is thought to have<br />
been built in the 12th century and<br />
has some good 14th and 15th<br />
century murals.<br />

Named after the town’s patron saint,<br />
a hermit who lived on the rocky islet<br />
on which Elizabeth Castle now<br />
stands. Parts of the church date from<br />
the 11th century. The gallant Major<br />
Peirson, who defeated the French<br />
when they last invaded in 1781, is<br />
buried here.<br />

Even compared to today’s superstars,<br />
the life of Lillie Langtry was<br />
extraordinary. She was born in the<br />
Rectory, twice married in the Church<br />
