PERSONALITY TEST The makers of Divergent provide BoxOffice with an inside look at the latest adaptation of a young-adult best seller By Daniel Loria Producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher make a prolific producing team. The married couple will share their 12th producing credit on a feature film with Divergent, the bigscreen adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling novel series. The story of how Divergent came to light begins well before the books’ success. Producers on the film initially encountered the property before it flew off the young-adult shelves at bookstores across the country. “When we first bought it, it was an unheard-of manuscript by an unknown person,” explains Fisher, referring to the author Veronica Roth, who wrote Divergent as an undergraduate at Northwestern University.
