processes of electricity generation and water
desalination industry from the sea water in Qatar
with illustration of all stages from production
to distribution including transmission and

and reach the international per capita rate
of consumption.
To form an additional innovative source, entertainment
and leisure space for the consumers
specially children at early ages.
The design works and construction tender
documents have been completed and it is
anticipated to be floated within next month
(April 2011). The completion date is expected
to be at the end of 2012 and the park will be
open to visitors on early 2013.The estimated
capital cost of KAHRAMAA Awareness Park is
QR 180,000,000.00.
It is worth mentioning that Eng. Essa Bin
Hilal Al-Kuwari, Qatar General Electricity &
Water “KAHRAMAA” President received Qatar
Sustainability Assessment System (QSAS)
Award on 3 March for KAHRAMAA Awareness
Park which achieved 5-star QSAS Commercial
Design Certification. KAHRAMAA Awareness
Park comes within the corporation commitment
to Qatar Vision 2030 which among
its four main objectives there is environment
sustainable development. The Park symbolizes
KAHRAMAA’s commitment towards its valued
customers and social responsibility. It comes as
a positive contribution to sustainable development
of the community. It aims to become a
model center for disseminating awareness of
electricity and water conservation awareness
with special concentration on the school and
university students sector as it represents the
future of Qatar. It will also demonstrate in an attractive
way the complete processes of electricity
generation and water desalination from sea.
The park, which open its doors for the public in
the beginning of 2013 will form an innovative
source of entertainment and leisure space for
the consumers specially children at early ages.
The Awareness park building located in Al
Thumama area is given this award for meeting
all technical requirements put by the committee

It uses materials that eliminate excessive
energy consumption, control indoor pollutant
sources and provides sufficient noise
insulation.
