Taliesin is a small, privately owned home situated in Bridge Street, near the centre of Tonypandy
and benefits from local amenities, like shops, post office, transport and places of worship as well
as interaction with the community.
The home provides personal care for older people. It welcomes people on a short or long term
basis and can offer a trial visit to people thinking about moving into the care home. The home
can accommodate people in the early stages of dementia.
Taliesin has 15 registered beds. Most rooms are single, with 2 shared rooms. 3 rooms on the
first floor are accessed by stairs, there is no lift at the home. All ground floor rooms are
wheelchair accessible. Each room has a television point. Residents can, if they wish, bring small
items of furniture or ornaments with them to personalise their room.
The home has 2 lounges, with entertainment including television, music and special lighting and
a residents' kitchenette. Residents can bring pets (by arrangement). The home has a car park
for 5 cars and a garden with patio area and has the use of its own minibus for outings. It has its
own laundry facilities.
The home has regular visits from a doctor, a dentist and hairdresser. A suggestion box is
available for anyone to suggest possible improvements. Visitors are welcome to call at any time.
A range of activities are organised which include playing cards, origami, sing-a-longs, parties and
barbeques in the warmer months, plus visiting artists come to entertain the residents.
