Cwmaman Care Centre Cwmaman is a purpose built, private care home situated in the village of Cwmaman, enjoying mountain views and close to local amenities, including shops, public houses, a post office and places of worship. It is also on a local bus route. The home provides personal care for older people and younger physically disabled people. It welcomes people on a short or long term basis and offers trial visits to people thinking about moving into care. Cwmaman also offers respite and convalescence care for people living in the community. The home accommodates frail, older people, including those with a sensory impairment or continence problems and people who are elderly mentally infirm. The young physically disabled are also catered for. The home is fully accessible for wheelchairs, with a lift to all 3 floors. There is a door entry system operating on the Elderly Mentally Infirm floor. Cwmaman has 51 registered beds, there are 45 single rooms and 6 shared rooms, 10 beds have ensuite facilities. The home has 3 lounges and 3 dining rooms. All rooms have television and telephone points. The home has a car park and a garden with a patio. A range of activities are organised on a regular basis, including bingo and raffles, regular shopping trips, pub outings and pamper evenings plus theme nights and seasonal events. A singer often visits and entertains the residents with a show and a clothing salesperson visits monthly. The home has regular visits from doctors, chiropodists, dentists and opticians, a complementary therapist and hairdresser.
