Pontypridd Nursing Home is privately run, situated in a residential area of Maesycoed, not far
from Pontypridd town centre and its local amenities.
The home provides both personal and nursing care for older people.
Pontypridd Nursing Home welcomes people on a short or long term basis and can offer a trial
visit to people thinking about moving into the care home. Respite care can be offered when
vacancies at the home allow.
The home can accommodate people who are chronically sick or with orthopaedic needs or a
more general physical disability or sensory impairment and residents with continence problems.
Pontypridd Nursing Home has 40 registered beds, up to 20 can provide nursing care. There is 1
double room and 4 bedrooms have ensuite facilities. Every room has a television point and a
telephone point can be fitted on request. The home has a public telephone for residents' use and
a post box close by.
There is a lift to all 3 floors of the home which has 4 lounges (including a quiet room and a
smoker’s lounge) and guest sitting room can often be made available. There is also a residents'
kitchenette.
A range of activities are organised on a regular basis by the home's activities coordinator and
includes singalongs, bingo, quizzes, discussion groups and trips out.
There are open visiting hours at the home which has a 12 space car park and a garden with
seating areas.
Pontypridd Nursing Home receives regular visits from a doctor, chiropodist, dentist, optician,
minister and hairdresser.
