Diagnosis.<br />

The weasels in this group are medium sized, and the tail<br />

is medium length, about 1.5 times the length <strong>of</strong> a hind foot.<br />

The length<br />

<strong>of</strong> the body <strong>of</strong> the male (n = 14) is 162-213 mm<br />

(M. 186), that <strong>of</strong> the female<br />

(n = 9) 145-185 mm (M. 165).<br />

The length <strong>of</strong> the tail is 28-66 mm (M. 40.5)<br />

in the male and 20-42 mm (M. 33.6) in the female; the length <strong>of</strong> the hind<br />

foot is 22-30 mm (M. 27.3) in the male and 19-25 mm in the female (M. 22.1).<br />

The size <strong>of</strong> the skull is average for subspecies in the group.<br />
