Project to Enable Wind Generation
Project Description:
Reconductor the existing 230 kV line from Canandaigua Substation to Avoca Substation to Hillside
Substation with a conductor sized to no less than double 1033 ACSR or equivalent (2500A summer
normal). The existing line extends from the Town of Cohocton (Steuben County) to the City of Elmira
(Chemung County). All terminals of the project are located in NYISO Zone C.

Terminal Stations and required upgrades:
The terminal substations are Canandaigua IPP, Avoca and Hillside. The buswork at Avoca Substation and
buswork, CT’s and wavetraps at Hillside will need to be upgraded to match the capacity of the 2-1033
ACSR conductor.
