Project to Enable Wind Generation
Project Description:
Reconductor the existing 115 kV line from Bennett Substation to Howard Substation to Bath Substation to
Montour Falls Substation with a conductor sized to no less than double 1033 ACSR or equivalent (2500A
summer normal). The existing line extends from the City of Hornell (Steuben County) to the Village of
Montour Falls (Schuyler County). All terminals of the project are located in NYISO Zone C.

Terminal Stations and required upgrades:
The terminal substations are Bennett, Howard, Bath, and Montour Falls. The 115 kV breakers and CT’s at
Bennett and the 115 kV buswork, switches, and CT’s at Bath and Montour Falls Substations will need to be
upgraded to match the capacity of the 2-1033 ACSR conductor.
