lf you were unable to attend this past PIA Business
Meeting you missed a great demonstration of PIA
on the WEB. This project was led by Vice-
President George Galloway who has made
arrangements to provide free Internet World Wide
Web (WWW) Site space to all PIA Members.
For those of you who
have Netscape, you will
be treated to some of
the most innovative
Home Pages.
WWW is the hottest
area of telecommunications
growth,
and allows your
company to make available everything from
advertising and service to product information and
on-line ordering for both your current and potential
customers.
lf you are not familiar with the WWW, find a
colleague who is and check out the "Yellow Pages"
on PIA's Web-site (http://www.pia.com) to see
what a number of your lellow members are already
doing in the cyber-world.
You can then develop your own pages, use the
services of a local page creator, or use the services
of our site-provider, First Step Research (FSR) of
Moscow, Idaho and get "on-line" immediately.
For those who already have a web-site, this
announcement means a FREE "home" for your
pages, and a PIA URt, in the form ofi

This project is the first in a series of mernbershipbenefit
enhancements currently in the works by
PIA, all designed to provide services to our
members usually only available to large companies

WE NEED YOIJ 1'O: Write, Fax or e-mail your
Senator or US Representative, (you can find their
name and address in the front of your local phone
book).
IMPORTANT: The FAA Exemptions 4943 and
6474 cover tandem jumping. The lirnitations and
conditions are devastating to you as a Tandem
Instructor, your business and your future income
and Strong Enterprises. The best solution for
everyone, including the FAA, is a permanent rule
change.
We need you to write a letter of support (sample
enclosed) for changing tandem jumping from an
"experimental" exemption to the much needed
permanent rule change. It has been l2 )'ears and
two million tandem jumps that tandem has been
under temporary two year exemptions as
"experimental" with student passengers referred to
as "experimental test junlpers". The liability that
you and the manufacturers are assuming needlessly
under this "experimental" exemption has to change.
Attached is background infbrrnation for you to use
in your letters. Please feel free to use any or all of
it. Strong Enterprises can only do so much to
protect tandem jumping, it's now your turn to
protect your occupation and sport.
