Master <strong>of</strong> School Administration (M.S.A.)<br />

The M.S.A. program is <strong>of</strong>fered to cohorts <strong>of</strong> students. The coursework leads to Principal licensure<br />

after the successful completion <strong>of</strong> a satisfactory score on the School Leaders Licensure<br />

Assessment and to completion <strong>of</strong> the requirements for the Masters degree.<br />

<strong>Queens</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Charlotte</strong> has a long-standing commitment to provide educators with<br />

the skills needed to deal with the complexities <strong>of</strong> today's school setting. Candidates earning<br />

their licensure at <strong>Queens</strong> commit themselves to a productive career and a noble life in school<br />

administration. They recognize the vital role <strong>of</strong> the educator in guiding, nurturing and shaping<br />

the lives <strong>of</strong> Children.<br />

ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAM<br />

Application Requirements<br />

• A completed graduate application<br />

• Official transcripts from each college or university attended submitted in sealed envelopes<br />

• Two letters <strong>of</strong> recommendation from current or previous supervisors or a letter <strong>of</strong> nomination<br />

from your school system<br />

• Satisfactory scores on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) <strong>of</strong> 790 combined*<br />

• A copy <strong>of</strong> a non-provisional teaching license<br />

• Evidence <strong>of</strong> five successful years <strong>of</strong> teaching<br />

• An original writing sample<br />

• Completion <strong>of</strong> the initial Student Self Assessment <strong>of</strong> Dispositions<br />

*You may attend one semester with a transcript indicating awarding <strong>of</strong> a bachelors degree and<br />

without taking the GRE. You may not register for a second term without completing all admissions<br />

requirements.<br />

International Students International students must also meet the additional requirements<br />

found on page 26.<br />

Student Status Full Status is accorded applicants who have met all admissions requirements.<br />

GRADUATE PROGRAMS<br />

Admission on Probation Students admitted on academic probation must meet the terms <strong>of</strong><br />

probation set by their admission letter, which may vary, in order to be allowed to continue in the<br />

program.<br />

Provisional Admission Students admitted provisionally must meet the terms <strong>of</strong> full admission<br />

in order to continue in the program.<br />
