TECHNOLOGY ON HDPE CONTAINER PERFORMANCE<br />

The continuously growing demand for inexpensive, efficient manufacturing<br />

methods drives businesses to develop new technologies which can produce<br />

more products faster with equal or better quality. Companies take different<br />

approaches to increasing production by buying state-of-the-art machinery or<br />

retrofitting older machinery. FastiUSA engineers products for the blow-molding<br />

industry for the improvement of existing machinery through various technologies.<br />

One such product, the Blow Mold Booster, blows the product through the use of<br />

cold air which speeds cooling, therefore reducing cycle times. While some<br />

studies have been conducted to examine the effect that internal cooling has on<br />

the product, the goal of this thesis was to determine its effects on Extrusion Blow<br />

molded HDPE containers. The data shows that the addition of the Fasti internal<br />

cooling device significantly increases package production without significantly<br />

affecting container performance.
