STARTING & DRIVING
Starting & Stopping
STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the engine :
• Apply the parking brake fully.
• Ensure that the gear lever is in neutral position.
INDICAB CNG - PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHILE STARTING
1. Check whether the change over switch is in petrol or gas mode.
The mode of operation is indicated on the dashboard instrument
cluster. During first start in the day, the petrol mode start is
recommended.
2. To start the vehicle in CNG mode, ensure whether the previous
stop was in petrol or gas mode. If the previous stop of the vehicle
was in petrol mode, then use up the remaining fuel by bringing
the switch to neutral position. Switch on to CNG mode when engine
starves for fuel. The approximate time required is about 30 sec. If
the previous stop was in CNG mode then the vehicle can be directly
started in gas mode. This is required to ensure that there is no mix
of gas and petrol in engine which will result in misfire.
3. The above mentioned point has to be ensured during the running
of the vehicle.
4. While starting in CNG mode, the vehicle should be cranked only
after the Green ‘LED’ light on the change over switch (Petrol to gas
mode switch) goes off. The approximate time taken for the light to
go off is 2-5 Sec.
