105.1.4 Annual Blanket Permit. Each permit shall encompass<br />
work <strong>of</strong> a similar nature and be <strong>of</strong> a minor impact such<br />
as cable T.V. or telephone wiring.<br />
105.1.4.1 The permit would be for a geographic area such<br />
as a municipality.<br />
105.1.4.2 The Building Official shall require an annual<br />
application for blanket permit or renewal with appropriate<br />
information such as name <strong>of</strong> responsible person, address<br />
and access phone number.<br />
105.1.4.3 A periodic notification such as a list or computer<br />
printout <strong>of</strong> names, addresses, dates and description <strong>of</strong><br />
work shall be required; weekly; bi-weekly or monthly.<br />
105.1.4.4 Formal inspection requests can be waived, however,<br />
the permit holder shall be responsible for conformance<br />
to this Code.<br />
105.1.4.5 Blanket permit is subject to cancellation for violation<br />
<strong>of</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> application.<br />
105.1.4.6 Annual blanket permits shall be amended to include<br />
all applicable revisions approved and included in interim<br />
and/or Code amendments.<br />
105.1.5 Food Permit. As per Section 500.12, Florida statutes,<br />
a food permit from the Department <strong>of</strong> Agriculture and<br />
Consumer Services is required <strong>of</strong> any person who operates a<br />
food establishment or retail store.<br />
105.2 Work exempt from permit. Exemptions from permit<br />
requirements <strong>of</strong> this Code shall not be deemed to grant authorization<br />
for any work to be done in any manner in violation <strong>of</strong> the<br />
provisions <strong>of</strong> this Code. Permits shall not be required for the<br />
following:<br />
A. No permit shall be required, in this or any <strong>of</strong> the following<br />
Sections, for general maintenance or repairs<br />
which do not change the Occupancy and the value <strong>of</strong><br />
which does not exceed fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500)<br />
in labor and material as determined by the Building<br />
Official.<br />
B. No permit is required for the installation <strong>of</strong> a slab in<br />
the right <strong>of</strong> way meeting the below parameters:<br />
1. Concrete slabs on grade that are less than 250 square<br />
feet in total installed entirely within a public right <strong>of</strong><br />
way and solely for the purpose <strong>of</strong> accessibility to<br />
public transportation shall not be considered a structure<br />
as described in Section 105.1.<br />

D. Electrical (Also See Section 105.4.5 and 105.4.5.1)<br />
E. Gas:<br />
1. No permit shall be required for installations or<br />
companies certified pursuant to Chapter 364, Florida<br />
Statutes (1993), for unregulated inside telephone<br />
wiring on new construction for all other<br />
commercial occupancies not listed in subparagraph<br />
105.1.<br />
2. No permit shall be required for installations by telephone<br />
communication utilities in single family<br />
Occupancies, whether detached or townhouse.<br />
3. No permit shall be required for installations or<br />
companies certified pursuant to Chapter 364, Florida<br />
Statutes (1993), for unregulated inside telephone<br />
wiring on new construction involving five (5) or<br />
less tenants, lessees, licensors, or owners, on new<br />
construction where any occupancy in a building or<br />
structure requires less than six (6) lines; and in either<br />
event, where the wiring is entirely in conduit.<br />
Exception: Where the value <strong>of</strong> which is less than<br />
six hundred and fifty ($650.00) dollars in labor<br />
and material based on invoice value.<br />
4. Permits shall not be required for the installation, replacement,<br />
removal or metering <strong>of</strong> any load management<br />
control device.<br />
1. Any portable heating appliance.<br />
2. Replacement <strong>of</strong> any minor part that does not alter<br />
approval <strong>of</strong> equipment or make such equipment unsafe<br />
F. Mechanical: (Also See Section 105.5 (3))<br />
1. Portable heating appliance.<br />
2. Portable ventilation equipment.<br />
3. Portable cooling unit.<br />
4. Steam, hot or chilled water piping within any heating<br />
or cooling equipment regulated by this Code.<br />
5. Replacement <strong>of</strong> any part which does not alter its approval<br />
or make it unsafe.<br />
6. Portable evaporative cooler.<br />
7. Self-contained refrigeration system containing 10<br />
pounds (4.54 kg) or less <strong>of</strong> refrigerant and actuated<br />
by motors <strong>of</strong> 1 horsepower (746 W) or less.<br />
8. The installation, replacement, removal or metering<br />
<strong>of</strong> any load management control device.<br />
G. Plumbing: (Also See Section 105.5 (1 and 2))<br />
C. No permit shall be required for storm water gutter systems<br />
installed on buildings <strong>of</strong> Group R3 occupancy<br />
that have an eave height <strong>of</strong> thirty (30) feet or less unless<br />
such gutters are installed behind any part <strong>of</strong> the<br />
eave drip metal.<br />
1. The stopping <strong>of</strong> leaks in drains, water, soil, waste or<br />
vent pipe provided, however, that if any concealed<br />
trap, drain pipe, water, soil, waste or vent pipe becomes<br />
defective and it becomes necessary to remove<br />
and replace the same with new material, such work<br />
shall be considered as new work and a permit shall<br />
