and the Building Official shall require that such elevations<br />

be transferred to the accompanying application for permit.<br />

107.2.3 At any time during the course <strong>of</strong> construction, the<br />

Building Official and/or Fire Marshal/Fire Code Official<br />

may require the submittal <strong>of</strong> a first-floor elevation survey, as<br />

built.<br />

107.2.4 For ro<strong>of</strong> assemblies required by this Code, the construction<br />

documents shall illustrate, describe, and delineate<br />

the type <strong>of</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>ing system, materials, fastening requirements<br />

and wind resistance rating that are required to be installed.<br />

Product evaluation and installation shall indicate compliance<br />

with the wind criteria required for the specific site or a<br />

statement by an architect or engineer for the specific site<br />

shall be submitted with the construction documents.<br />

107.2.5 Means <strong>of</strong> egress. Reserved.<br />

107.2.7.1 Design flood elevations. Reserved.<br />

107.3 Examination <strong>of</strong> documents. The building <strong>of</strong>ficial shall<br />

examine or cause to be examined each application for a permit<br />

and the accompanying documents, consisting <strong>of</strong> drawings,<br />

specifications, calculations (when required), and additional data,<br />

and shall ascertain by such examinations whether the construction<br />

indicated and described is in accordance with the requirements<br />

<strong>of</strong> the technical codes and all other pertinent laws or<br />

ordinances. All plan review to be performed by persons certified<br />

per Section 104 <strong>of</strong> this code.<br />

Exceptions 1: Building plans and/or specifications approved<br />

pursuant to Section 553.77(6) Florida Statutes and<br />

state-approved manufactured buildings are exempt from<br />

local codes enforcing agency plan reviews except for provisions<br />

<strong>of</strong> the code relating to erection, assembly or construction<br />

at the site. Erection, assembly and construction at the<br />

site are subject to local permitting and inspections. Photocopies<br />

<strong>of</strong> plans approved according to FAC 9B-1.009,<br />

F.A.C., shall be sufficient for local permit application documents<br />

<strong>of</strong> record for the modular building portion <strong>of</strong> the permitted<br />

project.<br />

107.3.1 The Building Official shall have certified plans examiners<br />

examine all plans and/or specifications and amendments<br />

thereto.<br />

107.3.2 If the plans and/or specifications conform to all pertinent<br />

laws the plans and/or specifications shall be marked<br />

“approved.”<br />

107.3.3 If the plans and/or specifications do not conform to<br />

all pertinent laws the plans and/or specifications shall be<br />

rejected and the plans examiner shall state the reasons for<br />

rejection in writing.<br />

107.3.4 Plans and/or specifications for which only minor<br />

correction is necessary may be corrected by notation on the<br />

prints with the approval <strong>of</strong> the designer.<br />

107.3.5 Plans and/or specifications for which major correction<br />

is necessary shall be revised on the tracings by the designer<br />

and new corrected prints submitted.<br />

107.3.6 Plans and/or specifications corrected to comply with<br />

this Code and all pertinent laws shall be marked “approved.”<br />

107.3.7 When plans and/or specifications are approved such<br />

plans and/or specifications shall become a part <strong>of</strong> the application<br />

prepared by and submitted by the qualified applicant<br />

for permit as set forth in Paragraph 105.3.1.<br />

107.3.8 Approval <strong>of</strong> the permit shall not be given until plans<br />

and/or specifications, as set forth herein, are approved.<br />

107.4 Approved Plans:<br />

107.4.1 Approval <strong>of</strong> construction documents. When the<br />

Building Official issues a permit, the construction documents<br />

shall be approved, in writing or by stamp, as “Reviewed for<br />

Code Compliance.” The Building Official shall retain one<br />

set <strong>of</strong> the approved (construction documents) plans and/or<br />

specifications, and the other set shall be returned to the (applicant)<br />

permit holder, who shall maintain and keep this set<br />

at the site <strong>of</strong> work during the hours <strong>of</strong> work in progress and<br />

available for mandatory inspections by the Building Official<br />

or his/her duly authorized representative and/or Fire Marshal/Fire<br />

Code Official, or his/her duly authorized representative.<br />

The Building Official may stop the work if such<br />

plans and/or specifications are not available at the building<br />

site.<br />

107.4.2 Approved plans and/or specifications, and/or<br />

amendments thereto, retained by the Building Official shall<br />

become a part <strong>of</strong> the public record unless prohibited by law.<br />

The Building Official shall notify anyone requesting copies<br />

<strong>of</strong> copyrighted public records that they may be violating the<br />

Federal Copyright law.<br />

107.4.3 Amended construction documents. Work shall be<br />

installed in accordance with the approved construction documents<br />

and any changes made during construction that are<br />

not in compliance with the approved construction documents<br />

shall be resubmitted for approval as an amended set <strong>of</strong> construction<br />

documents.<br />

107.4.4 Retention <strong>of</strong> construction documents. One set <strong>of</strong><br />

approved construction documents shall be retained by the<br />

Building Official for a period <strong>of</strong> not less than one year from<br />

date <strong>of</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> the permitted work, or as required by<br />

Florida Statutes.<br />

107.5 Design pr<strong>of</strong>essional in responsible charge.<br />

107.5.1 General Requirements for Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Design.<br />

For buildings and/or structures, except singlefamily<br />

residences, alterations, repairs or improvements,<br />
