The planned housing will be a mix <strong>of</strong> detached single-family and multiplex<br />
(apartment) units.<br />
Community Development<br />
In an effort to improve livelihoods in communities around the Country,<br />
the budgetary allocation for community development is almost doubled<br />
from $2.75 million to $5.25 million. This budget will provide an average<br />
<strong>of</strong> $350,000 for each <strong>of</strong> the fifteen constituencies. It will go a long way to<br />
provide short term employment for the local residents as well as improve<br />
their quality <strong>of</strong> life through community roads, drains, water courses, and<br />
other facilities.<br />
5.15 CARRIACOU AND PETIT MARTINIQUE<br />
Mr. Speaker, the priorities this year are:<br />
1. To complete the first phase <strong>of</strong> the Lauriston Airport Rehabilitation;<br />
2. To implement agricultural farm projects that will lead to job<br />
creation;<br />
3. To complete the feasibility study on the establishment <strong>of</strong> a reliable<br />
potable water system for Carriacou;<br />
