306 REQUIRED POLICIES AND PROCEDURES GOVERNING GENERAL<br />

ADMINISTRATION OF THE FACILITY<br />

<strong>The</strong> facility must develop, maintain <strong>and</strong> make available <strong>for</strong> public inspection <strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong><br />

policies <strong>and</strong> procedures:<br />

1. Resident policies <strong>and</strong> procedures as specified in Section 307;<br />

2. Admission policies as specified in Section 309;<br />

3. Discharge <strong>and</strong> transfer policies as specified in Sections 309.3 <strong>and</strong> 311.4;<br />

4. Incident reporting policies <strong>and</strong> procedures as specified in Section 310, including<br />

procedures <strong>for</strong> reporting suspected abuse/neglect as specified in Section 310.7;<br />

5. Policies <strong>and</strong> procedures <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> management of resident personal allowance<br />

accounts as specified in Section 311;<br />

6. Residents' Rights policies <strong>and</strong> procedures as specified in Section 312;<br />

7. Fire safety st<strong>and</strong>ards as specified in Section 308.1(f);<br />

8. Smoking policies <strong>for</strong> residents <strong>and</strong> facility personnel as sspecified in Section<br />

308.1(g)<br />

9. Policy <strong>and</strong> procedures regarding visitors, mail <strong>and</strong> associates as specified in<br />

Section 312.15;<br />

10. Policy <strong>and</strong> procedures regarding emergency treatment plans as specified in<br />

Section 403.3;<br />

11. Policy <strong>and</strong> procedures <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> relocation of residents in cases of emergencies (e.g.<br />

natural disasters, utility outages, etc.).<br />

307 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS CONCERNING RESIDENTS<br />

<strong>The</strong> facility must have written resident policies <strong>and</strong> procedures that shall include, as a minimum,<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong>:<br />

1. Established visiting hours must be posted in plain view of visitors. Unrestricted<br />

visiting hours are recommended.<br />

2. Keys must be readily available to facility personnel in charge of all locked doors<br />

within <strong>the</strong> facility.<br />
