PRIORITIES FOR ACTION A safe borough Activity areas 1 year target 3 year objectives Making the environment safer Hillingdon’s private and public spaces will be safer and there will be fewer accidents. Road safety around all schools will have been reviewed, they will all have travel plans and all physical measures will have been completed. 45) Extend safer routes to schools from 15 to 30. PRIORITIES FOR ACTION A clean and attractive borough Activity areas 1 year target 3 year objectives Making a cleaner greener borough Within 10 years Hillingdon will have clean and safe streets, parks, open spaces, and public places. Both the built and natural environments will have greater protection and improvements. Education and enforcement campaigns will ensure that anti-social behaviour is not tolerated. Improving the streetscene Across the borough residents and communities will be fully engaged in setting and monitoring performance standards for all streetscene services and national cleaning standards will be met. 48) Install 100 new waste bins on the streets and in parks. Ensure the ‘Green Spaces Strategy’ and the ‘Open Spaces Strategy’ are delivered to maximise use of parks and open space across the borough. Roll out locality pilots to other areas to deliver a more effective, efficient and enhanced street scene service in partnership with local communities, stakeholders and partner organisations.
