Community Cohesion
Hillingdon's diverse communities will be stronger
and more cohesive; tolerance will be fostered
through education, community development
and the knowledge that services are provided
fairly to individuals, based solely on need. All
individuals and communities will be treated
with respect and different cultures will be
valued for the contribution they make to the
richness of the borough.
141) Ensure that the mobility forum is set up and
established.

142) To mark 2005, ‘The Year of Volunteering’
publicise and promote volunteering
opportunities in Hillingdon.

facilities, in particular the use by minority groups,
including older people and take action to
encourage wider usage as appropriate.

and respect between communities and
individuals in those communities.

Encourage transport providers to work together
on transport policy and issues locally so that the
views of minority groups are addressed.
Increase support across the Hillingdon Partners
for volunteering opportunities and set targets
for delivery as a matter of course.
Ensure that use of community and other
facilities is maximised and is available to all
groups in Hillingdon.
Continue to encourage the development of
stronger more cohesive communities and
continuing good race relations.
