The Caloundra Aquatic Centre is located centrally within a large multi-use sports and high school
precinct. Currently the facility operates under a management agreement. The lease is currently
being finalised with the contract expiring in June 2022.
The facility features a 50 metre pool, 25 metre pool (with small grandstand), junior pool, toddler
leisure pool, program pool, amenities block, kiosk, crèche, gymnasium and skate park.
Assessment
The 2006 census 10 kilometre population catchment is estimated to be 56,108 persons. This
population catchment base is shared with the nearby 25 metre ocean pool at Kings Beach, a
regional facility at Kawana and a proposed district facility at Caloundra South. Two pools within
the complex are currently undergoing major redevelopment which will improve the facility’s
functionality and operating capacity. The facility requires an endorsed site master plan prior to
further development taking place.
