2.1 Purpose<br />

The purpose of this <strong>Plan</strong> is ‘to develop a<br />

shared vision for council and the community<br />

and prepare a robust <strong>Aquatic</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> to guide<br />

the current and future provision of facilities<br />

and services that meet the needs of our<br />

diverse communities.'<br />

2.2 Methodology<br />

The methodology applied in the <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong><br />

<strong>Aquatic</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>2026</strong> is outlined in Figure 1:<br />

2.3 Scope<br />

The scope of this <strong>Plan</strong>:<br />

leisure water and excludes natural waterways<br />

covers the geographical area defined by<br />

boundaries, with findings referenced through<br />

the region’s 44 Localities of Interest<br />

the provision of aquatic facilities<br />

encompassing land and land use planning<br />

implications only where <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong><br />

<strong>Council</strong> has a role in the network.<br />
