VERITAS ® MICRO
ADJUSTABLE
MARKING GAUGE
Our standard wheel marking
gauge is a great workhorse and excellent
value. Its popularity led to the development
of a second model that incorporates a microadjust
feature. It is similar to our standard
wheel marking gauge with an anodized aluminium
body, brass face, stainless-steel rod
and internal O-ring to keep a constant light
friction force on the rod. It differs in that the
body is slightly longer and is fitted with a twostage
collet that allows micro-adjustment of
the cutting wheel. The knurled thumbscrew
then locks the setting. The hardened steel
wheel cuts wood fibres rather than tears
them, which leaves a clean mark, even on
cross grain. The wheel’s single-sided bevel
also forces the gauge face against the stock,
maintaining accuracy. 170g.
VERITAS ® BAR GAUGE HEADS
Simple bar gauges are among the most useful
tools in the shop. They have two primary
purposes, comparing measurements and
transferring measurements. Bar gauges not
only shine in basic measurement transfer,
but are unequalled for inside measurements,
such as for sizing shelves or interior trim for
windows. Simply rip 1/4” slices off standard
3/4” timber to make bars of the length you
want. 10g.
05N31-01 $23.00
THREE IN ONE MARKING GAUGE
A wheel gauge, a pin gauge, and a cutting
gauge. The unique swivelling pin/blade
chuck takes either a pin or a blade that locks
in place (after extension is set) using a set
screw in the end of the 4-1/2” gauge stem.
The opposite end of the stem is tapped to
accept a 3/8” diameter wheel cutter. A dozen
spare blades, two hardened steel pins,
a wheel cutter and a hex key are included.
Made in Canada. 90g.
VERITAS ® BEAM COMPASS HEADS
The head clamps to any material between
16mm and 19mm thick, of any width or
length. The heads are held solidly on the
beam because each clamping knob also operates
a trapped pin that prevents pivoting
of the head when it is clamped in position.
The pins withdraw as the clamping knob is
backed off. Since one of the points has an
eccentric tip, you only need to clamp the
heads approximately; loosen the eccentric
tip and you get up to 1/8” of fine adjustment
by rotating the point. Comes with two hardened
steel points, a pencil, plus the heads.
