1.39 Cooperation with Other Contractors<br />

The Contractor shall note that other Works might be constructed in the Site of Works.<br />

He shall co-operate with the contractors of such Works in organizing their respective<br />

contracts so as to cause minimum of interference to each other and to the public. No<br />

claims resulting from such cooperation shall be entertained by the Employer except as<br />

stipulated in the Conditions of Contract.<br />

1.40 Suppression of Noise and Pollution<br />

The Contractor shall make every reasonable endeavor both by means of temporary<br />

Works and by the use of particular plant or silencing devices to ensure that the level<br />

of noise or pollution resulting from the execution of the Works does not constitute a<br />

nuisance.<br />

The Contractor shall take all such precautions as may be necessary in the conduct of<br />

the work to avoid water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution harmful to health,<br />

spreading of plant diseases and pests or damage to natural resources or the<br />

environment, all as is consistent with good practice and as required by applicable<br />

laws, ordinances and regulations or lawful orders or authority having jurisdiction.<br />

1.41 Protective Equipment and Clothing<br />

The Contractor shall provide and maintain all necessary protective and safety<br />

equipment and clothing for the operative and Site staff.<br />

1.42 Cleaning Up<br />

During its progress the work and adjacent areas affected thereby shall be kept cleaned<br />

up and all rubbish, surplus materials needed equipment shall be removed and all<br />

damage repaired so that the public and property owners will be inconvenienced as<br />

little as possible.<br />

Where material or debris has washed or flowed into or been placed in existing<br />

watercourse, ditches, gutters, drains, pipes, structures, work done under this Contract,<br />

or elsewhere during the course of the Contractor's operations, such materials or debris<br />

shall be entirely removed and satisfactorily disposed of during the progress of the<br />

work, and the ditches, channels, drains, pipes, structures and work, etc..., shall, upon<br />

completion of the work, be left in a clean and neat condition.<br />

On or before the completion of the work, the Contractor shall, unless otherwise<br />

especially directed or permitted in writing, tear down and remove all temporary<br />

buildings and structures built by him; shall remove all temporary Works, tools and<br />

machinery or other construction equipment furnished by him; shall remove,<br />

acceptably disinfect, and cover all organic matter and material containing organic<br />

matter and in, under and around privies, houses and other buildings used by him; shall<br />

remove all rubbish from any grounds which he has occupies and shall leave the roads<br />

and all parts of the premises and adjacent property affected by his operation in a neat<br />

and satisfactory condition.<br />
