1.46 Site Office for the Engineer’s Representative<br />

1.46.1 General<br />

The Contractor shall provide, maintain and keep clean, temporary site offices with<br />

all associated equipment and services for the exclusive use of the Engineer's<br />

Representative and his staff, from commencement of the Permanent Works until a<br />

Taking-Over Certificate is issued in respect of the Works.<br />

The temporary site offices shall be either prefabricated portable unit/s or<br />

alternatively of some other form of weatherproof design and construction to the<br />

approval of the Engineer.<br />

The offices shall have full partitions and room sizes shall be as shown in the<br />

attached Schedule of offices. All rooms shall have individual entrance doors.<br />

Corridor and entrance areas shall be additional to the office sizes.<br />

The offices shall be air-conditioned with the exception of the Toilet and Kitchen<br />

areas.<br />

All rooms shall have glazed windows complete with fly screens.<br />

Adequate fitted hardware, electrical switches, sockets, lighting, and plumbing<br />

fittings, sanitary ware and fittings and fixtures etc., shall be provided as necessary<br />

for the different areas.<br />

The electrical installation shall provide for simultaneous use of all electrical<br />

appliances.<br />

The Contractor may either arrange for a temporary power supply to the offices or<br />

alternatively provide and maintain adequate diesel generator sets. All electricity<br />

bills shall be paid by the Contractor.<br />

The Contractor may either arrange for a temporary mains water supply or<br />

alternatively provide water tank supply. All water bills shall be paid by the<br />

Contractor.<br />

One independent telephone line shall be provided for the offices as shown in the<br />

Schedule of Fittings and the Contractor shall pay all installation and rental<br />

charges and call charges within Palestine.<br />

The Contractor shall submit any necessary drawings and calculations for the<br />

construction of the offices for the Engineer's approval before commencing<br />

construction and shall be responsible for ensuring that the offices are structurally<br />

sound. The Engineer may request alterations at this stage. The drawings shall be<br />
