Go online Access to the internet and having the relevant computer skills are essential study requirements. Before you applied, you probably made sure you had internet access for at least an hour a week. The fact is, you have to factor the internet into your study plan. Students entering Unisa for the first time or starting a new qualification will have to do a compulsory online module. It’s not the same as a normal module. Online modules are designed to be interactive. They access current events and cutting-edge knowledge. There’s a constant need to keep up. You need to reference up-to-date information. Don’t wait before starting your assignments. Start strong and you’ll finish strong. From 2014, all honours students will no longer receive printed study material. Please use the next year to prepare yourself for this, and to ensure that you have regular access to a computer and the internet. 19
