the module by the <strong>of</strong>ficial closing date for registrations in the event that they fail the second assessment. No<br />

late registrations will be considered. Students who have re-registered and pass the second assessment, must<br />

themselves liaise with the <strong>Registration</strong>s Division regarding a refund for fees already paid.<br />

18 Examination timetable<br />

18.1 A provisional examination timetable will be available to all students at the time <strong>of</strong> registration to ensure that<br />

s/he is able to make an informed decision. The examination dates for all modules (except for non-venue based<br />

assessments, portfolios, theses and dissertations) are available in the examination timetable.<br />

18.2 The onus is on the student to ensure, at the time <strong>of</strong> registration, that the examinations for which they register<br />

do not clash with any religious commitments which may take place during the year.<br />

18.3 Students in foreign countries must ensure that the examination dates do not clash with any public holidays in<br />

their particular country.<br />

18.4 The <strong>University</strong> reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the provisional timetable which is provided to<br />

students at the time <strong>of</strong> registration. No student will be unreasonably prejudiced by any changes made after the<br />

period <strong>of</strong> registration.<br />

18.5 The final examination timetable will be posted, at least, one month prior to the commencement <strong>of</strong> the<br />

examination period. Please contact the university immediately if you have not received your final timetable<br />

two weeks prior to the initial examination date. NOTE: No additional examination opportunities will<br />

be granted in respect <strong>of</strong> students who claimed to have received their examination timetables late or not at all.<br />

The information will also be placed on <strong>my</strong><strong>Unisa</strong>.<br />

18.6 The final timetable will contain the following information:<br />

18.6.1 a list <strong>of</strong> the modules for which a student has gained admission to the examination, together with the final<br />

examination dates and times;<br />

18.6.2 a list <strong>of</strong> the modules (if any) for which the student has not gained admission to the examination;<br />

18.6.3 the examination centre address, and venue details; and<br />

18.6.4 further general instructions.<br />

18.7 It is the student’s responsibility to familiarise his-/herself with the contents <strong>of</strong> the final examination timetable<br />

ins<strong>of</strong>ar as it applies to the student’s registration for the semester/year.<br />

• Financial Cancellations: Students who have been financilally cancelled for certain modules may still go and write<br />

their examination as scheduled. Note however, that all examination results (and supplementary examination<br />

information where applicable) will be withheld until all tuition fees have been settled and examination material<br />

returned. Supplementary examinations missed as result <strong>of</strong> the aforementioned will not be rescheduled<br />

nor will students be granted any further examination opportunities.<br />

19 Examination centres<br />

19.1 <strong>Unisa</strong> has an <strong>of</strong>ficial list <strong>of</strong> examination centres approved by Senate. The detail <strong>of</strong> the approved examination<br />

centres is contained in the university brochure <strong>my</strong> <strong>Registration</strong> @ <strong>Unisa</strong> and <strong>my</strong> <strong>Unisa</strong>.<br />

19.2 Examination centres in foreign countries are limited to the examination venues currently in use, locally or<br />

abroad and as detailed in the brochure.<br />
