if it has capacity.<br />

Fees:<br />

$78 per day charge to referring agency. There are<br />

some subsidies available for participants, but this<br />

will vary according to individual circumstances.<br />

<strong>Services</strong> Provided<br />

Ilpurla Aboriginal Corporation provides rehabilitation services for young people<br />

with social adjustment problems in relation to:<br />

• Petrol sniffing <strong>and</strong> other forms of substance abuse<br />

• Criminal <strong>and</strong>/or antisocial behaviour<br />

Ilpurla provides a safe place in which people are able to confront <strong>and</strong> deal with<br />

their issues, with the support <strong>and</strong> cultural guidance of staff <strong>and</strong> community. Ilpurla<br />

also works with family groups to address issues with the whole family, as well as<br />

running a range of diversionary programs for people referred through the justice<br />

system.<br />

It focuses on:<br />

• promotion of self-respect, respect for others, l<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> culture;<br />

• developing solid <strong>and</strong> positive futures by enhancing participants’ cultural<br />

identity, sense of self, skills <strong>and</strong> confidence;<br />

• providing support <strong>and</strong> assistance to other Aboriginal groups in the area; <strong>and</strong><br />

• undertaking a range of community development activities including<br />

accommodation, social services <strong>and</strong> essential services infrastructure<br />

development, <strong>and</strong> social <strong>and</strong> cultural development activities.<br />
