Alcohol and Other Drug AND Mental Health Services Directory

• The Adult Team case manages all clients over 18 years of age. Everyone
seen by this team is allocated a case manager who is the primary contact
with the service.
• The Training and Education Team co-ordinates or provides education
regarding relevant mental health topics for TEMHS staff, other agencies and
community organisations.
A Mental Health Team is based at the Palmerston Super Clinic and offers case
management.
N.T. CATT is based in Building 57 of the Royal Darwin Hospital campus and
provides telephone triage and emergency response. It is the initial point of
contact for assessment of all referrals of potential clients of the TEMHS and after
hours also Central Australia Mental Health Services. The team also responds to
queries made by general practitioners and remote clinics. A community liaison
team member is situated at the Royal Darwin Hospital Emergency Department
until midnight each day. This team also provides urgent psychiatric assessment
and short-term crisis intervention for current clients of community mental health
services.
Additional Locations
TEMHS Darwin Remote Team services Daly River, Jabiru, Maningrida, Oenpelli,
Wadeye/Port Keats and their outstations, Croker and Goulburn Islands, either
in the community or as in-patients in Cowdy Ward at the Royal Darwin Hospital
Campus.
TEMHS Top End Outreach Community Teams cover the East Arnhem, Katherine
and Tiwi Islands, including Nhulunbuy (Gove) and all communities east of
Maningrida, south to Numbulwar, including Groote Eylandt, Bickerton and Elcho
Islands, Katherine, Borroloola, Lajamanu, Kalkarinji, Ngukurr, Pine Creek and
associated outstations, Nguiu, Milikapiti, Pirlangimpi and Darwin support services.
