Some fees also apply to Family Relationship Centre services. Hours: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm Thur 8:00am - 6:30pm Services Provided Relationships Australia Northern Territory provides counselling to individuals, couples and families to enhance maintain or manage changes in their relationships. Services include: • Child consultations – for children whose parents are engaged in family dispute resolution or counselling. A one-hour session allows children to express their feelings about how they are coping with the family situation. The child consultant later follows up with the child’s parents to discuss the best outcomes for the child. • Children’s Therapeutic Team (Urban and Remote) assists children from five to 17 years of age who have witnessed domestic violence or been victims of other forms of abuse • The Family Relationship Centre – can assist with providing information about family relationships at all stages • Men and Family Relationships Service – a 12-week course for men who realise they are doing things that damage their relationships and want to change/improve this. This course is offered in Darwin and Alice Springs • Children’s Counselling Service Alice Springs – a counselling service for vulnerable children aged five to 12 years and their families who have experienced interpersonal trauma. 70
• Individual and Family Counselling services provided in response to a wide range of needs. • Youth Diversion Program - this program operates in Alice Springs only. It provides an alternative to the more formal court process for young people. If accepted, the young person must attend a youth justice conference. Outcomes from the conference can be in the form of community service or restoring the harm done to others.
