Harriet McCoy, New Hampshire, 1836, silk on linen. Floral baskets,
hillocks, trees and a feathered plume similar to the Canterbury
sampler motif. Signed and dated. In a frame, 18 3/4”h. 16 3/4”w.
A Harriet McCoy is listed as being born in Goffstown, Hillsboro Co.,
in February 1821. She was the fourth of ten children born to Nathan
and Bathsheba (Sargent) McCoy and married W.W.Graves in 1850.
