Theodosia Cavston, probably England, dated
1752, silk on wool. Minute stitches form moral
verses separated by decorative bands of hearts,
crowns, diamonds and flowers. Signed at
bottom. Bright colors. In a frame, 16 1/2”h.

Anne Caldwell, attributed to Vermont, 1774,
silk on linen. Twelve-year old Anne worked her
name in large letters over a scene of sheep, and
birds in trees. In a frame, 12 1/4”h. 9”w. And a
marking sampler signed “Sarah Dutton, Aged
9 1843”. 5 1/2”h. 8”w., in old gilt frame,
11 1/2”h. 13 1/2”w.

American,19th century, curly maple.
Turned legs and shaped apron, three
dovetailed drawers with walnut edge
beading and pull out desk drawer with
fall front. Fitted interior also in curly
maple and consisting of pigeon holes,
six dovetailed drawers and center
door with two interior drawers. Top
desk drawer has inlaid corner fans.
Imperfections. Old brasses have
some damage. 46”h. 41 1/4”w. 21”d.
