Connecticut, in 1828.<br />

Pennsylvania, early 19th century, pine.<br />
Turned feet and applied base and lid<br />
edge moldings are red. Wide single<br />
boards and dovetailed case. Original<br />
blue sponging on a white ground.<br />
Fraktur is pen and ink and watercolor<br />
floral design bordering a printed “Haus<br />
Sagen” (house blessing). Interior till<br />
and wrought iron strap hinges, lock is<br />
missing. 26 1/2”h. 23 1/2” w. 23 1/2”d.<br />

Possibly Henry Lapp, Lancaster County,<br />
Pennsylvania, 1862-1904, poplar. Large<br />
size, with a chest over two drawers, interior<br />
walnut till, and resting on turned feet.<br />
Retains its original oak graining and cast<br />
hardware. 27 1/2”h. 50”w. 25 1/2”d.<br />
The use of walnut for the till only, the glue<br />
blocking on the drawers, as well as the<br />
profile of the waist molding are similar to<br />
Lapp’s work.<br />
