Mission to Israel Packs Power for PAC The bonds among caring estate professionals in our Professional Advisory Committee along with their connections to Israel strengthened once again during a remarkable mission in April 2013. After spending a week together traveling throughout our homeland, the group returned deeply moved, thoroughly energized and even more ready to make a difference! Led by Mission Co-chairs Matt Kutcher, Jerry Wolf and Joel Yudenfreund, along with Federation CEO Matt Levin, the packed itinerary took twenty-five PAC members, including estate and trust attorneys, financial wealth advisors, accountants and insurance professionals to see in person how our Federation’s dollars are making a difference -as well as to some of Israel’s most awe-inspiring sites. From first-time to seasoned Israel visitors, together they experienced the Golan Heights on ATVs, modern Tel Aviv, and the rich Jewish diversity of Jerusalem including the Old City and the Western Wall in daylight and at midnight, Yad Vashem and Masada. Colonel (ret.) Danny Tirza, the IDF’s Chief Architect for the Security Fence, led a seam line tour for the PAC members. Some of the most memorable experiences took place in our Sister City, Kiryat Bialik. PAC members formed and deepened friendships, learned about the area, and visited shared projects - discovering how connected our communities have become since 2002 through Partnership 2gether (Formerly P2K). “The 2013 PAC mission was a resounding success. We were able to visit historic sites, witness first-hand the current events that are redefining Israel, and meet the people whom our Federation dollars are impacting.” -Matt Kutcher “Our Mission was a most unique experience as 25 colleagues left the U.S. as individuals and returned from Israel as brothers and sisters united in friendship and a cause.” -Jerry Wolf In an unforgettable evening before leaving Jerusalem, the PAC members walked to the Kotel. After a meaningful Shabbat dinner together, they gathered around to reflect on their time spent in the land of Israel, sharing experiences, sites and people they wanted to remember. I am proud to be part of Israel, and I look forward to returning.” -Dan Levine Estate Professionals Learn and Network at PAC’s 29th Annual Seminar Nearly 150 local estate professionals gathered at Woodfield Country Club on May 21, 2013 to learn and network at the PAC’s 29th Annual Seminar for Professionals. Many of the community’s most influential members of the legal, accounting, investment advisory, banking and insurance fields were represented. The audience heard from nationally renowned tax and estate expert Donald O. Jansen, and many earned Continuing Education Credits. Chaired by Eliot S. Popper and Brian Singer, the evening also featured a lavish cocktail reception. David Pratt, outgoing Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation Chair, honored Marjorie Horwin on completion of her three years as PAC Chair, and reviewed the JJCF year’s accomplishments. E.
