The future with Going to<br />
● Going to: USE<br />
We use "going to":<br />
• to talk about plans and intentions for the future:<br />
Example: He is going to buy his girlfriend an Ipod for her birthday<br />
Are they going to get married in July?<br />
I am not going to give him my email address<br />
IMPORTANT ⇒ It is unusual to say "I'm going to go to ..."<br />
Instead we use: "Going to + a place or event:<br />
Examples: They are going to the beach tomorrow<br />
Are you going to the party?<br />
• to make predictions based on present evidence:<br />
Example: It is very cloudy. It's going to rain<br />
Don't drive so fast; you are going to have an accident<br />
There are not time expressions especially used with the going to form. These expressions can be used with<br />
will or other future forms as well: in the future, this evening, next year, tomorrow ...<br />
