English consonants: /t/ and /d/<br />

In unit 1 you heard all the English consonants. In this unit we are going to begin with the consonant<br />

sounds which are more problematic for Spanish students.<br />

Consonants /t/ and /d/<br />

There is a remarkable difference between English /t/ - /d/ and the Spanish consonants t and d. They<br />

do not have the same pronunciation. So, it is very important that you learn to pronounce these two English<br />

sounds correctly. Listen now to the pronunciation of the sounds and to the example words that<br />

accompany them<br />

Note the difference between /t/ (tea) and /d/ (day)<br />
