• The <strong>Hurricanes</strong> open the season against their 2006 Eastern Conference Finals<br />

opponent, Buffalo, and raise their 2006 Stanley Cup Champions banner to the RBC Center’s<br />

rafters in front of an overflow crowd of 18,840 – October 4, 2006.<br />

• <strong>Hurricanes</strong> goaltender Cam Ward records his first <strong>NHL</strong> regular-season shutout as<br />

<strong>Carolina</strong> scores a 5-0 win vs. Washington – November 9, 2006.<br />

• <strong>Hurricanes</strong> forwards Eric Staal and Justin Williams represent the Eastern Conference<br />

at the <strong>NHL</strong> All-Star Game in Dallas, each notching a goal. It marks the first time since 1999<br />

that two members of the <strong>Hurricanes</strong> have gone to an All-Star Game – January 24, 2007.<br />

• Ray Whitney sets a franchise record scoring three even-strength goals in a 1:40 span in<br />

the second period of <strong>Carolina</strong>’s 5-2 win at Boston. The feat marks the fastest three evenstrength<br />

goals in the <strong>NHL</strong> since Bill Mosienko scored three times in :21 in his Blackhawks’<br />

7-6 win at NY Rangers, March 23, 1952 – February 8, 2007.<br />

• <strong>Hurricanes</strong> establish a new single-season attendance record of more than 650,000 fans<br />

when they host an overflow crowd of 18,763 against San Jose. <strong>Carolina</strong> finishes the season<br />

having hosted 7<strong>12</strong>,861 fans in its 41 home games, an average of 17,387 fans per game and<br />

93.3% of the RBC Center’s capacity – March 24, 2007.<br />

• Rod Brind’Amour wins the Frank J. Selke Trophy at the <strong>NHL</strong> Awards in Toronto –<br />

June 14, 2007.
